RISK MANAGEMENT
This statement outlines the Maarif Schools Australia procedures regarding supervision, protocols and guidelines, including risk management for students undertaking onsite and offsite activities.
POLICY
In accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulation Maarif Schools Australia is committed to ensuring that procedures for risk management are applied so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure the health and safety of students, staff (and volunteers if applicable) for onsite and offsite activities.
PROCEDURES
Maarif School Australia will provide Risk Management processes and proformas advising staff of the risk management process for excursions and onsite routines. This will include risk management templates.
Consideration will be given for the following:

Individual health care plans for students with health care needs of disabilities will be included.

The age, number of students, expertise of staff and the location of the onsite/offsite event will be taken into account.

Site inspections may be required.

Venue to provide relevant risk assessment details.

Special Protective Equipment will form part of the assessment.

Communication and consent details with families will be extensive and include all relevant risk details.

Water activities will follow specific swimming and water safety guidelines which will include venue selection, parent/caregiver consent and input into the capacity of the student, supervision, staff induction, student induction, testing student proficiency.
